Dear Broken Girl,
I
used to know a girl who loved. Loved every single second of the day. Oh, how she loved. Deep down she hurt. She hurt
mentally, emotionally and spiritually . But every day, she walked with a smile because that’s
who she was. She was a dreamer, a doer, a thinker and saw the possibilities in
everything that she did. She didn’t strive to be successful but rather valued. She
builds others up because she knew what it felt to be torn down. She looked in
the mirror with tears in her eyes and begged herself to just hold on and be
strong, but she knew pain as it haunted and stared at her. She asked God to enlighten
what was dark in her, strengthen what was weak in her, mend what was broken in
her. Bind what was bruised, heal what was sick, and lastly revive whatever
peace and love had died in her.
To
that Women I say:
Letting
go isn’t to forgot, not to think about or ignore. It doesn’t leave feelings of
anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn’t winning and it isn’t losing, it’s
not pride and it’s not obsessing or dwelling on the past. Letting go isn’t
blocking out memories or think thoughts and doesn’t leave emptiness, hurt, or
sadness. Letting go isn’t about loss and its defeat. Truly letting go is to
cherish moments and overcome and move on. It’s having an open mind and
confidence in the future. Letting go is accepting. To let go is to be thankful
for the experiences that made you cry and made you grow. Letting go is having
the courage to accept the change and the strength to keep moving. Letting go is
growing up. It’s realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent
remedy, to let go is to open a door and to clear a path and to set you FREE. You
are not unwanted, you are chosen, you are not unloved, you were to die for, you
are not alone, YOU are God’s. The Lord your God is with you; he is mighty to
save. He will take great delight in you; he will quiet you with his love. He will
rejoice over you singing. –Zephaniah 3:17. I know you are broken and tired but
you will find the fighter in you and you are going to move mountains and you
will rise. You will rise unafraid and you will do it a thousand times. Remember
one thing, Like air, YOU WILL RISE.
