Memories, if we couldn't recall them can we manage?
Memories is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.-The Wonder Years
Memories that we can recall either being good, bad, ones that make us smile or bring tears to our eyes. They often reflect on what kind of person we are, what kind of person we will become. Our memories and life contribute and influence us in many ways but sometimes our human wants and desires can contribute to what and who we want to become (am i making sense?)My memory as a child are not that vivid. As I am often told by my grandmother I was a perfect, lovely baby. (cause I'm her favorite)If it wasn't for stories of when I was a baby then I would have no recollection of them. My vivid memories start in Pre-K, I can fondly recall the scent of Mrs. Amaya her white and black hair, her long manicured nails as she sung her many spanish folkloric songs. The year I didn't let the camera man take my class picture. Dancing in the Cinco De Mayo program in the front row with my brand new gold intial "A" ring. The memory of meeting Celina and Elizabeth. My school days bring memories of moving to a different school, meeting new people, wondering if my old friends missed me, The Gotti Boys, Pipi Girl, Mrs. Griffin, Dr. Reed, meeting my best friend Ashley, the cards you give away at birthdays. My first crush. My happiest memories come from my family. Going to Huntsville in the summer, putting on Spice Girls concerts in the living room, getting my Pocahontas hair(oh I miss my long hair)braided, or looking out the window and getting my p-j shorts pulled down hence the name Chonies my cousin Laura calls me. As I get older there's no difference except for the Spice Girl concerts now it's Aiden and Trevor who entertain us. New members of family are added and the memories continue to grow. the conversation we have on our way to town with Amy and Jamaal are hilarious. If you hear the reason behind his cross tattoo it will have you laughing for hours.Let's see... It involves his ghost girlfriend and wanting her to stay away with a great vast of scary, funny details and why he married my cousin Amy because of her pure soul would make her stay away. ( or something like that) My greatest memory with my sister Amanda involves her giving me all the stuff she doesn't want anymore and the stuff I would take from her without her knowing and then try to secretly putting it back without her catching me ( like a secret mission impossible)It's the day you realize she's married and comes to get her stuff, you shed tears as you see her drive away. It's the new life she's starting without you.The niece and nephew you come to love as your own. The word's of my brother-in-law Joe that I have memorized "Brad Pitt has nothing on me"(and begins to stroke his face)in other words you are as beautiful and handsome as you determine yourself to be NOT ANYBODY OR ANYTHING ELSE!If you were to ask my brother what memory he has of me he would say this scar and point to his head (oops). My mother what can I say, from her crazy antics (I know how to but how do I how; I see said the the watermelon)to her love of the name Billy Bob Thorton, she is why I learn that bad memories in the past do not have to make bad memories in the present. My best and most cherished memory come from accepting Jesus and knowing I have a greater life that awaits for me, for the best is yet to come. My love for him grows each day knowing that HE loves me no matter what. My reflection in life is simple, without Jesus you are nothing and have nothing, his love covers us and his sacrifice saved us.I continue to make new memories everyday. My first job meeting my partner in crime Ms. Whaley and meeting the other half of the Musketeers Cynthia and Carol. Work for me is stressful at times but it's much easier and happier working with these girls. Are lives are so different but we are there for each other, we lift each others spirits, volunteer one another and get into crazy shenanigans . We try Carol's crazy food combinations and let her be the first to taste foreign foods to us. We go to Cynthia when we need her to tell someone off for us. and I even have my own Bella look-a-like (pssh who needs Kirsten Stewart, when you Belinda Resendez) Their like the friends who get you in trouble but always have your back no matter what life throws at you The ones you can rant your sorrows and happiness to and they always have the solutions to your problems (Love You guys)
Memories whether being big or small, colorful or not, it is all of them combined that make- up the life we are living. We choose to keep or destroy them. If we deny it ever happened then something in our life will always be missing. So as we live are life let our memories be our experiences and become part of our lifes (found this excerpt online)
