Having Faith during the Coronavirus.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Corinthians 7:14
It’s Day 374927 of who knows how long this will go on…
This year has been one of the craziest for me and we are only in the 3rdmonth.
I refuse to sit in front of my T.V. and watch it all day. I have though watched 2 documentaries one about counterfeit make-up, the other about a Tiger King, started a Harry Potter movie marathon. I’ve watched Snapped and Killer Couples. I’ve read, I don’t know how many books, started a Golden Girls puzzle that lasted a whole 5 minutes, Cleaned, cleaned and did I mentioned clean.
This is not what I pictured doing after Spring Break. I pictured myself going back to work and asking the students how their Spring Break was between class or walking them to class, not working from home.
When I first heard about COVID-19, I didn’t give it much thought it was overseas and never fully processed how fast the virus could travel. It wasn’t until churches started closing, schools were closing, people were getting scared and running to the grocery store.
I don’t worry if or when I will get the virus, I’m more heartbroken I won’t be able to see my babies anymore for the rest of the school year. I’m anxious that their last day of 8thgrade won’t come with a hug, a don’t forget me when you’re in high school and a always make good choices speech.
I am in no way above anyone or “special” but I have such a sense of peace that I know it only comes from God. I am not immune to anything but I know that God’s protection is over me and by his blood I am covered and by his stripes I am healed. I am not scared because having Faith means I can’t have fear or worry.
I think during this pandemic, giving words of encouragement maybe for myself or for the person reading this, can take some of the worry or fear some may have. Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away your moment’s peace. Just think when we worry it implies that we don’t quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what’s happening in our lives (Chan)
This is what I have for you….
God is in control of everything, of this virus, of the people who are sick, of the people who are healing. The people helping and working. He wants us to be still and have these moments of you and him. Ask him what is it that he wants us to know. It’s a moment of time where he wants to build a relationship with you and let you know to choose faith over fear, and peace over worry.
I know at this moment, it is so easy to be worried but Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done(Phillipians 4:6-7) God is so good to us that he gives us grace we don’t deserve, mercy we can’t resist and a love that we cannot comprehend. I have said this once, and I will say it again. God is ultimate, he loves us perfectly and irrevocably through it all, through the ups and downs, and through the ins and outs and sinning we commit. We must speak out what we want but we must also seek what God wants from us. We can’t always take from God, we must learn to give back to him.
When God sees that we have humbled ourselves and seek him ,he said he will heal our land.
I leave with this: Talk to God. Listen for his reply. Act according, See the life in everything. Carry yourself like child of God, you are.
Let this song remind you, it's time to break-up with Fear.

I love you friend! 💜
